Our September foray with the caravan started at Houghton Mill Caravan Club Site. We had arranged to meet our friends from Germany here and also David and Carol who live nearby. We had invited everyone, 10 people in all, for afternoon tea, to ‘chez nous’ aka pitch 38.
The day after our arrival was September 3rd Udo’s 70th birthday. He and I went geocaching on our bikes along the new guided bus route nearby. It has a cycle lane along the side of it.
As you can see he also found his 1000th geocache – well done Udo!
In the afternoon lots of work had gone into producing a feast for Udo’s birthday party. Udo blowing out the candles – he wasn’t allowed 70 of them due to ‘Health and Safety’.
Later on when many people had left we continued the celebrations in Joan and Udo’s caravan. A good time was had by all!
Sue and I were invited to Carol and David’s on our last night at Houghton Mill. We walked across the meadow passed the mill and through the village, which is delightful.
Above you can see Sue at Hemingford Abbots library – it must be the smallest one around! Joining us for the meal was Anne and Ronnie whom we hadn’t seen since our Dortmund days. A great evening, thanks.
